7.1.7. The drum-type brake mechanism

In the drum-type brake mechanism two are located against each other колодки — forward and back, established on pistons of the wheel brake cylinder and fixed by a fixing plate near to the bottom coupling spring. Both колодки are pulled together by the bottom spring. By pressing a pedal of a brake pistons of the wheel cylinder move outside, pressing колодки to an internal wall of a brake drum. At wheel rotation forward the lobby колодка becomes self-braking. At wheel rotation back back колодка becomes self-braking. Force from brake колодок is transferred to a fixing plate through a basic plate on an axis flange. Backlash adjustment is made automatically irrespective of application of a brake and deterioration of overlays колодки. Do not change position колодок which have been already used. It can affect function of self-regulation and to become the reason of increase in a course brake колодки.
