10.11.2. Check of geometry of a body

For exact check of geometry of a body use a measuring instrument. The complete set of the measuring instruments used for performance of recommended verifying measurements, should include the vertical index which can increase to 457 mm.
Two kinds of measurements can be executed with a measuring instrument: measurement from a point to a point and the measurement calculated on a horizontal plane (a line of the given size), parallel to the bottom part of a body. Measurements from a point to a point are carried out on the details of a body located in a motor compartment, a steering and suspension brackets. For this purpose apply the vertical index to identical installation. For measurements on a horizontal plane the vertical index should be established on each point. The sizes to apertures are measured to the centre of an aperture and in level to an adjoining metal surface. We recommend, the diagonal sizes across a body to measure on both parties to be convinced of correctness of the sizes of the bottom part of a body of the car.

The sizes of the bottom part of a body are shown on fig. 10.136, 10.137, 10.138, 10.139.
