Starter details are shown in drawing 3.109.

Remove a starter.

Check up a backlash in бендиксе in a following order:

- Disconnect the plug of M of the engine of a starter 1 (fig. 3.110);

- Connect additional wires to the switch of 2 plugs of the storage battery with plugs of M and S the starter engine;

- Put in action бендикс, having included the switch 2;

- Check up щупом a backlash 1 (fig. 3.111) between a gear wheel and a lock ring.

The note Finish check during the minimum time for prevention of an overheat and damage of the traction relay (for 10).

Check up the traction relay in a following order:

- Disconnect the plug of M of the engine of a starter 1 (fig. 3.110 see);

- Connect additional wires to the switch of 2 plugs of the storage battery with plugs of M and S the starter engine;

- Put in action бендикс, having included the switch 2;

- Be convinced that бендикс it is put forward outside 1 (fig. 3.112).

If бендикс it is not put forward, replace the traction relay.

Check up absence of short circuit of a winding with the rotor case in a following order:

- Using the voltmeter, check up isolation between a winding and rotor plates (fig. 3.113);

- At isolation breakdown, replace a rotor.

Check up rotor windings on absence of breakage of a chain of a winding in a following order:

- Check up conductivity presence between collector plates, using a multimeter (fig. 3.114);

- At winding breakage, replace a rotor.

Check up brushes, springs and щеткодержатели on deterioration and damages. Replace brushes, if length of brushes and (fig. 3.115) less than 7,0 mm.
